Species Name: Swainson's Lorikeet
Trichoglossus haematodus moluccanus Average Adult Size: 12 in. Diet: Nectar and pollen but also fruit such as figs and mangos, berries, beetles and small grubs. Habitat: Forest, coconut plantations, savanna, eucalyptus stands and mangroves at islands in Torres Strait and East Australia. Shot: Taken at the Oregon Zoo. Comments: Curious but extremely beautiful birds. Keep dangly earings and bracelets in your bag when going to meet them. Permission to use granted with notification and link to this page. I'd like to see what you've done, too. So drop me a link. Edit 4/1/08: Cleaned up the blur a little. Still messy, but better than it was. If I kill anyone I promise to take pictures and their wallets. Since goats will eat anything I don't have to worry about the bodies.
The reason that talk is cheap is that the supply FAR exceeds the demand.
