Trichoglossus haematodus moluccanus Average Adult Size: 12 in. Diet: Nectar and pollen but also fruit such as figs and mangos, berries, beetles and small grubs. Habitat: Forest, coconut plantations, savanna, eucalyptus stands and mangroves at islands in Torres Strait and East Australia. Shot: Taken at the Oregon Zoo. Comments: Curious but extremely beautiful birds. Keep dangly earings and bracelets in your bag when going to meet them. Permission to use granted with notification and link to this page.
